PARTICIPANTS The project Getting Evidenced into Practice represented the collaboration of as many national agencies for health promotion within the European Union (including accession-countries) as possible and was supported by the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) and EuroHealthNet (Brussels). Each strand had a subcontract holder as responsible partner working together with project members as representatives of national organizations. Team members and partners worked together on the deliverables as stated in the EC grant agreement. Project team members are agencies already active in this field (evidence into practice) and commited to work in a coalition and build European standards. Partners in the project were agencies/countries that committed themselves to follow the progress and take part in seminars and/or take responsibility for dissemination of results within their own country, paying their own expenses. Potential new agencies that would be interested in joining the project - in particular in the new EU member states - were contacted later on in the project. As a result of this acquisition statutory agencies in 8 countries showed interest to participate in a possible follow up of the project, which was, however, not granted. Participation The project Getting Evidenced into Practice represented the collaboration of as many national agencies for health promotion within the European Union (including accession-countries) as possible and operated in close collaboration with the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) and EuroHealthNet (Brussels). List of participants in the project ( PDF, 40 kB) 2007: Please note that many participants have changed address, since the project was finalized. The GEP Steering group consisted of the three strandholders (VIG, KTL and IUHPE), staff from NIGZ (project management) and EuroHealthNet (Communication). Steering Group meetings were organised on the day prior to the the Strand meetings. Meetings During the 18-months-period of the project participants met three times in plenary gatherings called Strand meetings: once in September 2004, once in February 2005 and finally in a pre-conference meeting in Stockholm, June, 2005. The Strand meetings performed a number of functions: - source of updates on the project's progress - a forum for exchanging views - collecting feedback and comments - an opportunity to work together and contribute to the project development. Project strandholders, project team members and partners involved received a regular Newsletter which included updates on what was going on in the different strands, news from the project management and a calendar of events.
